This Friday, August 23rd, 2024, marks the 145th anniversary of the 'ukulele's "arrival" in Hawai'i in 1879 aboard the Ravenscrag.

finally! some years back person or persons unknown declared an international ukulele day and it *wasn’t* August 23rd. I have thoroughly ignored it while wondering what the heck was wrong with them.
