"The elevated fingerboard is something I've been doing on acoustic guitars, and it was a natural to bring over to the uke world. Many uke fanatics I've talked to declare that the best sounding instruments are the old style ones without a fingerboard extension glued to the top. Makes sense...there's not a hell of a lot of top on a uke, and the more one can do to enhance useable top vibration, the better. The cantilevered and elevated board also makes high fret reach easier."Here are more photos. Link
